Nursing Research

The CNS promotes an environment of life-long learning in the nursing profession. Through its commitment to education, scholarship, research and practice, the CNS produces caring competent professionals.

The Nursing Research Office (NRO) supports faculty research and scholarly activities, fosters nursing research interests in students, and promotes collaboration among nurses, health care professionals and external agencies to enhance health care initiatives.

The Nursing Research Office supports the collaborative efforts of nursing faculty and direct care practitioners to provide quality health care through research. It also provides a forum for dialogue and collaboration among nurses working in all domains of nursing.

Strategic Goals of the NRO are to:

  • Support and strengthen research capacity within the CNS;
  • Support practicing nurses to develop best practice guidelines;
  • Increase the visibility of nursing research by building a nursing research infrastructure;
  • Enhance collaborative research within the discipline of nursing and between nursing and other health care professions.
